Youth Sports Rebate & Scholarships
Thanks to the passage of Measure J in the June 2014 election and the recently adopted City budget, funding is available to help families with youth playing in local sports leagues. The City of Woodland has the opportunity to offer financial assistance for families participating in youth sports, including Woodland Soccer Club, Davis Alliance Soccer Academy, Babe Ruth Baseball, Cal Ripken Baseball, Girls Fastpitch, Little League, Woodland Swim Team, Woodland Wreckers, and Woodland Youth Basketball League
Limited rebates are available for youth participating in the identified sports leagues and will be processed on a first-come first-served basis. The rebates are cumulative for each child in the family for those participating in the current season only; and eligible for the identified youth sports organizations. For example for a family with four children the rebate would be as follows: $10 (one child), $20 (second child), $30 (third child), and $40 (fourth child) $10 + $20 + $30 + $40 = $100
Limited scholarships in the amount of $50 each for youth sport-participants for income qualified families are available and will be processed on a first-come-first served basis. Those receiving a scholarship may not apply for or receive a rebate. Proof of income is required for scholarships. Scholarships are available for participants in the current season only and for the identified youth sports organizations.
Complete the application for the rebate or scholarship by November 30, 2018 to be eligible to receive a Youth Sports Fee Rebate or Scholarship for the Fall 2018 season. Proof of residency to the City of Woodland must be submitted with the completed rebate or scholarship application. Applications for scholarships must also include proof of income; verification of participation in the school lunch program is preferred.
