The Junior Guard program provides opportunities to be trained on the basics of water safety. Lifeguarding skills, physical fitness, swim instruction and education, and exposure to aquatic safety will be taught. Participants must be able to swim 50 yards without stopping and does not certify participants as lifeguards.

Cost: $75 per session (Non-residents of Woodland fee is $100)
Monday through Thursday, 10 am-12 pm
Session 1: Leadership & Professionalism June 18-28
Builds a foundation of knowledge in basic first aid, CPR, fitness and swimming skills, leadership skills, and professionalism.
Session 2: Prevention & Response July 2-12
Water rescues are taught including spinal management skills within the pool.
Session 3: Water Safety Education & Instruction July 16-26
Learn the aquatic teaching progression and skills needed to successfully teach swimming skills.
