As of January 1, 2019, businesses generating a total of 4 cubic yards or more of waste, organic waste, and recycling per week are required to divert their organic waste from going to the landfill.
Businesses that do not subscribe to Waste Management's organics recycling services may file an annual exemption if the business can demonstrate a lack of space, self-hauling or alternative organics recycling methods, or another qualifying reason. Unless revoked, this exemption shall be effective until September 30, 2020. Applications must be renewed and submitted by October 1 each year thereafter.
Green waste: landscape trimmings, grass clippings, non-treated wood, saw dust, etc.
Food waste: food scraps, produce, expired food, food byproducts, leftovers, plate scrapings, etc.
Compostable paper: paper towels, paper plates, greasy pizza boxes, compostable bags/packaging, etc.
*1/2 cubic yard is equivalent to the size of a 96 gallon cart/toter
Reminder: businesses do not subscribe to green waste street collection services, and are therefore prohibited from placing green waste in the street.
Business is responsible for knowing where their green waste is taken and how it is processed. Green waste disposed of as trash or responses with no answer will be considered incomplete and/or not eligible for an exemption.

I further certify that I am the property owner, tenant, or other person having a legal right, interest, or entitlement to the use of the facility, or the person responsible for the management of solid waste for disposal or recycling at the facility that is the subject of this application.
The City of Woodland reserves the right to inspect/audit facilities and/or documents for confirmation that the submitted information is correct and valid, and submission of this application form constitutes the applicant’s permission for the City to conduct inspections on the applicant’s premises.
