Dr. Graham Coop is a professor in the Evolution and Ecology department at UC Davis. He works on questions at the intersection of human genetics and evolutionary biology.
Graham will talk about genetics, genealogy, and the vast family
tree of all humans that unites us all. He'll explain how you are
closely related to everyone in the world and your relationship to
your distant cousins, the Neanderthals. You can read more about
these ideas here: https://gcbias.org/category/genetic-genealogy/
The Science & Society sessions provide opportunities for the public and those engaged in research and policymaking to share ideas and concerns. All are welcome to attend, and we encourage an open dialog on all the topics presented.
