On November 7, 2012 at approximately 0300 hours, Woodland police officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Oak Avenue in Woodland for a rape in progress. When the officers arrived they located the adult female victim at a neighbor's residence who told them the suspect should still be in her home. The officers went to her home and were not able to locate the suspect inside. A search of the surrounding area was also fruitless.
The crime scene was processed and evidence was located. The victim stated she was woken up by the suspect at knife point. The suspect then disrobed her with the knife and sexually assaulted her. At some point during the assault she was able to escape and ran to a neighbor's residence to call the police. She suffered non life threatening injuries during the assault but was taken to the hospital for examination.
The suspect was described as a medium build hispanic or white male wearing a black beanie type hat.
