On November 25, 2012 at about 3:35 P.M. Woodland police officers were dispatched to the Westgate Shopping Center at 367 West Main Street for an attempted kidnapping. The victim, a 31-year-old female Woodland resident, reported that she was walking between parked vehicles in the parking lot. The suspect, seated in a pickup, opened his door blocking her way. The suspect grabbed the victim’s hair and pulled her toward the pickup. The victim yelled for help and a bystander approached. The suspect released the victim’s hair and drove away eastbound on West Main Street. The victim was not injured.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his late 30's, with a large build, dark hair, and a moustache, wearing a light blue hooded sweatshirt, green sweat pants, and no shoes.
The vehicle was described as a white, compact, 1990’s model pickup.
