On November 25, 2012 at about 3:35 P.M. Woodland police officers were dispatched to the Westgate Shopping Center at 367 West Main Street for an attempted kidnapping.  The victim, a 31-year-old female Woodland resident, reported that she was walking between parked vehicles in the parking lot.  The suspect, seated in a pickup, opened his door blocking her way.  The suspect grabbed the victim’s hair and pulled her toward the pickup.  The victim yelled for help and a bystander approached.  The suspect released the victim’s hair and drove away eastbound on West Main Street.  The victim was not injured.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his late 30's, with a large build, dark hair, and a moustache, wearing a light blue hooded sweatshirt, green sweat pants, and no shoes.

The vehicle was described as a white, compact, 1990’s model pickup.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is encouraged to call Woodland police dispatch at (530) 666-2411.
