On November 25, 2012 at about 3:35 P.M. Woodland police officers were dispatched to the Westgate Shopping Center at 367 West Main Street for an attempted kidnapping. The victim, a 31-year-old female Woodland resident, reported that she was walking between parked vehicles in the parking lot. The suspect, seated in a pickup, opened his door blocking her way. The suspect grabbed the victim’s hair and pulled her toward the pickup. The victim yelled for help and a bystander approached. The suspect released the victim’s hair and drove away eastbound on West Main Street. The victim was not injured.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic male in his late 30's, with a large build, dark hair, and a moustache, wearing a light blue hooded sweatshirt, green sweat pants, and no shoes.
The vehicle was described as a white, compact, 1990’s model pickup.
Through investigation of the above incident the Woodland Police Department was able to identify Kyle Hall, 23 year old transient, who is suspected for being responsible for the commission of this crime. Hall was taken into custody on today’s date, November 28th 2012 at 3:40pm, without incident in the parking lot of 1720 East Main St. Hall was later booked at the Yolo County Jail where he is being held for charges of False Imprisonment and Attempted Kidnapping.
