|On the 1st of January 2013 at approximately 2:38 am, Woodland police officers were dispatched to 415 Elizabeth Way after numerous citizens in the immediate vicinity reported 2 men firing a shotgun and handgun into the air.|
Upon arrival, officers found 2 men in the front yard of 415 Elizabeth Way who matched the physical and clothing descriptions of the alleged suspects. Both men were detained as officers investigated the report. Officers located numerous spent shotgun shell casings on the front yard of 415 Elizabeth Way and a shotgun in the rear cargo space of a SUV belonging to one of the men.
Police officers arrested 32 year old, Jed Tranquilino Flores Torres, from Woodland, and 31 year old, Cesar Carabez, from Sacramento.
Torres was arrested for reckless discharge of a firearm and being a previously convicted felon possessing a firearm, both felony crimes. Carabez was arrested for being an accessory to a felony (reckless discharge of a firearm). Both men were booked at the Yolo County Jail.
No civilians were injured in the immediate area and there have been no reports of injuries related to this incident. Anybody with additional information is encouraged to notify the Woodland Police Department at 530-666-2411.
