|On 11-25-12, at 1115 hrs., an 81 year old female Woodland resident was walking in the 400 block of Ashley Ave. The victim was using a walker which had a compartment under the attached seat. Her wallet was in the compartment. The victim passed what she described as a black male, approximately 30 years old wearing a black beanie, tan jacket and blue jeans. After passing the male the victim was pushed in the back by the male and he reached around and removed her wallet from the compartment. The male then left the scene on foot.|
After stealing the wallet the suspect attempted to use the victim's credit cards at three separate locations, two in Woodland and one in Davis. Surveillance video showed the suspect driving what appeared to be a silver Volvo sedan.
Woodland Police Detectives identified a possible suspect and attempted to locate him at his residence in Davis, CA. On 11/30/2012 Detectives located a silver Volvo sedan outside of this residence and discovered that it was a stolen vehicle out of Davis, CA.
The suspect, Ramsey Lee Spivey, 42, entered the vehicle and fled when Woodland Police Detectives attempted to stop the vehicle. Spivey was able to evade arrest but information later gathered was able to connect him with the robbery of the 81 year old female.
It was later discovered that Spivey had fled the state in an effort to avoid prosecution possibly enroute to North Carolina. On 1/22/2013 it was discovered that Spivey was in custody in North Carolina on unrelated charges. An arrest warrant was issued for Spivey and he is awaiting extradition to California.
