| On the 17th of March 2013 at 4:39 am, Woodland Police Officers were dispatched to the Woodland Memorial Hospital Emergency Room where the victim of an assault was being treated by the tending physician for lacerations to the head and arm.|
Upon arrival, Officers found a 30 year old Woodland man being treated for several wounds to his head and arm. The wounds, although appearing consistent with those caused by an edged or bladed weapon, were non-life threatening.
The victim told officers that prior to his calling a friend for a ride to the hospital, he was walking in the area of W Lincoln Ave and West St. At this location, he passed 2 males who were walking in the opposite direction. One of the unknown males attacked the victim without provocation, and repeatedly struck him on the head.
The suspect then grabbed for the victim's jacket and began pulling it off. The victim offered up the jacket while trying to protect himself from the suspect's blows. The victim told officers he did not see a knife or weapon, but did sustain lacerations to the left arm and head.
The victim described his assailant as being a White male adult in his mid to late 20s. The suspect was wearing a long sleeved maroon shirt and dirty blue jeans. The victim could not describe the individual with the suspect.
The suspect made off with the victim's black jacket and keys.
Anybody with information about this assault and robbery is encouraged to call the Woodland Police Department (530) 661-7800.
