On Wednesday, April 17, 2013, at approximately 5:00 P.M., Woodland Police Department officers responded to the area of Summertree Lane and W Cross Street for a report of several teenage juveniles drinking in public.
When the officers arrived to the area they located the 10 involved juveniles in an alley near Summertree Lane. Two of the juveniles were immediately detained for being in possession of alcohol and public intoxication. The other juveniles ran off. As the officers conducted their investigation, one of the detained intoxicated juveniles (a 16 year-old male) became physically combative with the officers. As officers struggled controlling this juvenile, the other juveniles returned and began throwing rocks at the officers. Additional officers responded to the scene and were able locate and arrest one of the rock throwing juveniles (a 16 year-old male). Two additional juveniles were arrested; a 14 year-old for obstructing an officer and a 14 year-old for public intoxication. All four juveniles had to be medically cleared at Woodland Memorial Hospital prior to being booked at Yolo County Juvenile Hall. The charges included: assault with a deadly weapon, felony obstruction, misdemeanor obstruction, terrorist threats, battery on a peace officer, assault, conspiracy, vandalism, disorderly conduct, and minor in possession of alcohol.
