On Monday, May 13, 2013, at approximately 7:17 a.m., Woodland Police and Firefighters were dispatched to a vehicle vs. pedestrian traffic collision near the intersection of E. Gum Avenue and Kate Lane. Upon arrival, Woodland Police Officers located the pedestrian lying on the roadway on E. Gum Avenue east of Kate Lane next to the involved 4 door sedan. The pedestrian, a 15 year old male, was unconscious. AMR ambulance personnel quickly arrived on scene and transported the pedestrian to the U.C. Davis Medical Center. The identity of the pedestrian will not be released pending notification of parents. The driver of the sedan, a Woodland resident, did not sustain any injuries.
The investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by the Woodland Police Department Traffic Division. The Police Department is urging anyone who may have witnessed this traffic collision to contact officers of the Traffic Division at 530-661-7880.
