On Wednesday, May 15, 2013, at approximately 12:01 A.M., Woodland Police Officers were dispatched to Hollywood Market, located at 1321 College St., for a report of a possible burglary that had just occurred. A witness called 911 to report that a male subject smashed one of the business windows and then hid in nearby bushes. The witness provided a suspect description and remained on the phone with dispatch while following the suspect as he ran southbound on College St. and turned eastbound onto Buena Tierra Dr. The witness lost sight of the suspect in this area.

Woodland Police Officers arrived in the area within minutes and located a male juvenile on Buena Tierra Dr. at intersection with Fremont St. The fifteen year old juvenile suspect, whose name will not be released due to his age, surrendered and was detained without incident. The witness later responded to the scene and positively identified the suspect as the same person that broke the window at Hollywood Market.

Officers searched Hollywood Market for additional suspects but did not locate any. Through their investigation officers learned that the suspect had gained entry into the business through the rooftop and had to break a window to escape. The suspect did not leave the store with any merchandise. He was later booked into the juvenile hall for burglary and vandalism, both felonies.
