On 05-16-2013 at approx. 10:00 P.M. Officers of the Woodland Police Department responded to 3 King Place on a report of a man possibly under the influence of drugs. The man's parents reported their son was acting violent and agitated. On arrival Officers attempted to use crisis intervention tactics to calm the man down but he became threatening to the officers and the parents.

The officers attempted to take the man, 27 year old Eddie Bouphavichith, into custody. Bouphavichith fought with the three officers even after a Taser was deployed. Bouphavichith was eventually subdued and handcuffed. The officers sustained non-life threatening injuries and all returned to work. Bouphavichith was also treated for non-life threatening injuries at Woodland Memorial Hospital.

Bouphavichith was booked at the Yolo Co. Jail for three counts of Resisting an Executive Officer in the performance of his duty and three counts of Battery on a Peace Officer causing injury.
