STEVE GUTHRIE, ADMINISTRATIVE SERGEANT, WOODLAND POLICE DEPARTMENT    (530) 661-7864

On Monday, June 10, 2013, at 9:13 P.M., Woodland Police Officers were dispatched to 1443 Edwards Circle for a report that a male, later identified as 30 year old Woodland resident and parolee Salvador Fierro Jr., was in a physical fight with his mother in front of the residence. While officers were responding to the scene a second call was made to dispatch stating that Fierro Jr. was armed with a knife and fighting with his stepfather in front of the residence also.

Officers arrived on scene and began administering first aid to the injured victims’ stab wounds while awaiting the arrival of medical personnel. Officers learned from witnesses that Fierro Jr. had fled back into 1443 Edwards Circle prior to their arrival. Medical personnel arrived and transported the female and male victims via ambulance to the hospital for treatment of life-threatening injuries. A perimeter was established around 1443 Edwards Circle by Woodland Police Officers with the assistance of Yolo County Sheriff Deputies.

During the investigation additional witnesses called and reported seeing Fierro Jr. on foot on Henderson Way near Helen Way, and possibly on Thomas Street near Collette Way. Several officers responded to the area and established a secondary perimeter in the neighborhood. Woodland Police Officers began an extensive house to house search in the area with the assistance of a West Sacramento K-9 Officer and a Sacramento Police Department helicopter but were unable to locate Fierro Jr. The Woodland Police Department SWAT Team responded to 1443 Edwards Circle and forced entry into the residence but did not locate Fierro Jr. at this location either.

Fierro Jr. is wanted by the Woodland Police Department for attempted homicide and is considered armed and dangerous. Fierro Jr. is approximately five feet seven inches tall, weighing approximately one-hundred forty-six pounds, with brown eyes and black braided hair.  Anyone who may know the whereabouts of Fierro Jr., or have information regarding this crime, is encouraged to call the Woodland Police Department at (530) 666-2411. Callers can remain anonymous.
