On October 23, 2013 at approximately 1351 hours,
Woodland Police Department officers were dispatched to a physical fight involving a knife at North West Street and West Woodland Avenue. Woodland High School administrators took the step of locking down the campus, due to the proximity of the fight to the school. Upon arrival officers discovered the fight was over and that a 17 year old Woodland Resident (Not a student at Woodland High School) was transported to Woodland Memorial Hospital by a private citizen. The victim suffered a single non threatening stab wound.
The victim was attacked by two unknown white male suspects, who fled the area in an older model silver Chrysler with tinted windows. At the time of this release, the motive for the fight is not known and there is no known relationship to fight and the Woodland High School other than the close proximity in which the fight occurred.
The Woodland Police Department is currently investigating this matter as an assault with a deadly weapon and anyone with information is encouraged to call the Woodland Police Department at 530-661-7800. Callers can remain anonymous.
