SEARCH WARRANT SERVICE OPERATION AND OUTSTANDING SUSPECT UPDATE

During the months of November and December 2013 the City of Woodland experienced over 100 burglaries. Patrol officers and Detectives alike have been working on these burglaries diligently. Through their investigation probable cause for six search warrants was developed.

On 01-23-14 at approximately 6:00 am the Woodland Police Department in conjunction with West Sacramento Police Department, Davis Police Department, Yolo County Sheriff's Department, California Highway Patrol, Yolo County Probation and the Yolo County District Attorney's Office served all six search warrants on homes within the city of Woodland. The goal for today was to recover stolen property and make any applicable arrests. Stolen property was recovered and six arrests were made. Some of the property recovered included firearms, household items and tools.

28 year old Mark Lasonde was arrested for burglary, possession of stolen property and a warrant. 24 year old Kimberly Lalley was arrested for burglary, possession of stolen property and a warrant. 37 year old Jose Garcia was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and a warrant. 30 year old Blanca Hernandez was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance. 22 year old Elia Garcia was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession of stolen property. A few hours later 34 year old Salvador Villa was taken into custody for possession of methamphetamine. All of the suspects that were arrested were residents of the City of Woodland and booked at the Yolo County Jail.

One of the suspects, 23 year old Mario Lopez, is still outstanding and should be considered "armed and dangerous". He is wanted in connection to this investigation which is still ongoing. Lopez is described as a Hispanic male with brown hair and eyes weighing 180 lbs. and 5-11 in height. If anyone has information as to the whereabouts of Mario Lopez they are encouraged to call the Woodland Police Department dispatch center at 530-666-2411.

UPDATE

On 01-25-2014 Mario Lopez turned himself into the Woodland Police Department and was arrested without incident. He was booked into the Yolo County Jail for burglary, probation violation, resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance, child endangerment and felon in possession of a firearm.
