HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION UPDATE

On March 18, 2014 at approximately 2240 hours, Woodland police officers responded to the 600 block of Elm Street.  It was reported to dispatch there was a physical altercation and a victim of a stab wound.

Officers arrived to find the victim lying on the ground with a stab wound and immediately summoned medical aid.  The victim was later pronounced dead at the scene.  Investigators from the Woodland Police Department and the Yolo County Coroner's Office responded to take over the investigation.  At this time the victim's information is not going to be released until notifications have been made to next of kin.  This is an ongoing investigation so no further information will be available.

The Woodland Police Department's Detectives are currently looking for the following two people. 

Suspect- Gayton, Julio Demetrio
26 year old Hispanic male
5’10"/160lbs
Black short hair and brown eyes

Tattoos: upside down spade (Rt eye); Angelo (left arm)
 
The Woodland Police Department currently has an arrest warrant for Gayton for Homicide.

Person of interest-Tapia, Jesse Armando
23 year old Hispanic male
5’10"/170lbs
Black short hair and brown eyes

Tattoos: star on left forehead and above left eye; "RIP Billy" on forearm

Tapia is wanted for currently being a Parolee at Large.  He is also wanted for a New Mexico state arrest warrant.
