Article 30. Administration and Enforcement.
Sec. 25-30-30. Enforcement.
(a) It shall be the duty of the building inspector to enforce any portion
of this chapter relative to building construction, and it shall be the duty of
the community development director and the zoning administrator to enforce all
other provisions of this chapter. No oversight or dereliction on the part of the
building inspector or any authorized assistants of any official or employee of
the city of Woodland vested with the duty or authority to issue permits or
licenses shall legalize, authorize, waive, or excuse the violation of any other
provisions of this chapter. Any permit or license issued shall be null and
void.
(b) In the event any person, firm, or corporation should erect,
construct, move, or alter any building or structure in violation of the
provisions of this chapter, or any use of any property conducted, operated, or
maintained contrary to the provisions of this chapter shall be, and the same is
hereby declared to be unlawful and a public nuisance. The city attorney shall
immediately commence action or proceedings for the abatement, removal, and
enjoyment thereof in a manner provided by law.
(c) Any person, firm, or
corporation violating any provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of a
misdemeanor and, upon conviction thereof, shall be punishable as set forth in
Chapter 1, Article III of the Woodland City Code. (Amended during the March 2009
