The City of Woodland residents have been invited to participate in the selection of a new play structure for Harris Park at a neighborhood meeting on Saturday, August 26, 2017, from 10:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Harris Park. Residents will gather at the Imperial Street (east side) of the park.
The Yolo County District Attorney's Office in partnership with all local law enforcement to host Citizens Academy 2017. This course is designed to educate the public and improve relationships between the diverse communities and the Yolo County Justice System.
Safely dispose of unneeded medications in the new medication disposal kiosk at the Woodland Police Department (1000 Lincoln Avenue). The kiosk is located in the Police Department lobby, which is open to the public Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The following items may be disposed of in the kiosk:
The kiosk is sponsored by Yolo County in an effort to prevent improper disposal and unauthorized use of pharmaceuticals.
This week, city staff received Caltrans and Federal authorization to proceed with construction on the Kentucky Avenue Project. Staff is finalizing the project documents for bid advertisement late September/early October with bid opening anticipated in November. Construction of public utility improvements and private utility relocations are anticipated to begin by November 2016 with the roadway widening and reconstruction work to begin in spring 2017. In its continual endeavor to provide better service to the residents of the City of Woodland, the Woodland Public Safety Department has created the SNAP Program. The Special Needs Alert Program (SNAP), assists First Responders (Police and Fire) to be more responsive during emergencies to residents of the City of Woodland with special needs.

The City of Woodland is proud to support the nonprofit organization, Yolo Conflict Resolution Center (YCRC). YCRC recently opened an office in Woodland, Casa del Sol Community Building, 709 East Street. This organization provides affordable mediation, facilitation, restorative justice, and conflict resolution education services through volunteer community members. The first ever Get Your Business Online workshop hosted by The City of Woodland and Woodland Chamber of Commerce to be held Tuesday, November 3 at the Woodland Community Center. There will be two sessions: from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. followed by 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Woodland Community Center, located at 2001 East Street, Woodland, Ca 95776. This event serves as a way to help local businesses increase their presence online.
