The Main Street and Cleveland Street Signal Improvement Project will upgrade the existing intersection by installing new traffic signal equipment, vehicle detection on Cleveland Street, new signal poles, signal heads, audible pedestrian signals, and pedestrian signal heads. The project will reconstruct the four non-compliant ADA curb ramps at the intersection to bring them into compliance with current state and federal standards. The project will also microsurface and restripe the intersection.
This project was awarded in May 2016 and due to the longer than expected lead time for manufacturing and delivery of the traffic signal poles and equipment, construction of this project will commence on October 3rd 2016 and be completed by May 2017 pending weather delays.
During project construction there will be significant traffic impacts at the intersection of Main Street and Cleveland Street including signal shutdown and lane closures. On October 3rd, the signal will be turned into flashing red. On October 5th, it will be completely shut off and the intersection will turn into a 4 way stop with stop signs and red flashing beacons.
It’s anticipated the new signal will be up and operational by February 2017 and full road repairs and striping completed by May 2017 pending weather delays.
We would like to thank you in advance for your patience and understanding during construction of this project and accept our apology for any inconvenience this may cause you.
