Come celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the Woodland Community & Senior Center with the City of Woodland. Enjoy the birthday party on Friday, March 3 from 4-7 pm at the Woodland Community & Senior Center, during the annual summer recreation program exposition “ReXpo” and Senior Art Show.
While at ReXpo, learn about program offerings by the City and other recreation partners, sample cuisine from one of the program sponsors Maria’s Cantina, Blue Note Brewery, and Simas Family Vineyards, or view art created by seniors at the Senior Art Show.
During ReXpo Community Services’ spring and summer program information will be available and receive a 10% early registration by signing up for any class or activity. Come to ReXpo to learn about the programs available from the Community Services Department for all ages from newborns to seniors such as the Baby & Me meet up group, summer park youth programs, tennis lessons, swim lessons, teen programs, a camping trip to Yosemite for teens, and seasonal employment and volunteer opportunities. There are also specialty classes are available for all ages including art classes, boxing, dance lessons, science camps, and sports camps. Many summer programs have scholarships available.
Recreation program demonstrations will occur during the event and there will be crafts and free activities. There will be opportunities to win prizes such as fitness trackers (donated by the Woodland Recreation Foundation), a free group swimming lesson, or a free park reservation for any of Woodland’s Parks.
The annual Senior Art Show will also be held concurrently with ReXpo. Senior artisans from classes held at the Senior Center will display their art. Artwork includes paintings, drawings, ceramics, needlework, quilting, and wood-carvings. Some artwork may be for sale. There will be beer and wine tasting provided by Simas Family Vineyards and Blue Note Brewery. Donations for the Senior Art Show have been provided by Senior Center Inc.
