To commemorate and celebrate the life and work of labor and civil rights leader César E. Chávez, the City of Woodland will be hosting a celebration at First & Bush Streets on April 2nd from 5:00-7:00 pm.
"César Chávez dedicated his life of service by providing a voice to the voiceless. An American hero not only for farm workers, but to the rest of our nation. We are asking the community to come together and commemorate his life and legacy." stated Woodland Mayor Angel Barajas.
This year’s César Chávez festivities will be celebrated during the monthly Food Truck Mania. Join the City and fellow residents for this annual event that includes music, dance performances, singing, guest speakers, as well as poetry readings, to celebrate the life and accomplishments of César Chávez. In addition to the regular food trucks in attendance, Las Brasas will be on hand selling tacos and salsas.
Families are encouraged to attend the event so children of all ages can learn about Chávez’s dedication to make life better for those working hard in agriculture. Children’s activities will be available during the event.
Questions about the event can be directed to the City of Woodland Community Services Department at (530) 661-2000
