On October 9th between 10:00 and 2:00 at Heritage Plaza (2nd and Main St.) the Woodland Police Department Traffic Unit will be hosting an event called “DUNK-A-COP”. At this event the Traffic Unit, led by Sgt. Steve Guthrie, has volunteered to be waterlogged and will sit in a dunking booth. We are currently selling tickets to this event for $10 dollars each, which will buy you three chances to dunk members of the Traffic Unit including Officers Krause, Harriman, Ruiz and Traffic Enforcement Officers Stewart and Milliron.
We have a partner in this venture, Ludy’s Main Street Bar-B-Que, who will be deducting $2.00 off their “Pork” sandwich or any entrée the day of the event. The WOLF 101.9 will be there as well to urge on the participants as they dunk their favorite person for the charitable cause “Relay for Life”. Even if you don’t want to dunk anyone or want to eat BBQ, please feel free to purchase a ticket or make a donation to our cause to help eradicate this terrible disease that in one way or another has touched all of us. Your support and charitable nature are much appreciated and will not go unforgotten by anyone affected by cancer.
To purchase tickets, please contact the Traffic Unit/Sgt. Steve Guthrie at 661-7864.
