Community Meeting - February 13, 2014 - Future Transmission Main & Multi-Use Path

February 7, 2014

The City of Woodland is planning to construct a new water line from County Road 102 west to the new water storage tank under construction at the corner of W. El Dorado and County Road 98. The water line will follow the alignment of Farmer's Central Road and Sports Park Drive from CR 102 to East Street, and then follow the old Yolo County Flood Control and Water Conservation District irrigation ditch just south of the City between East Street and Ashley Avenue. This line will be used to distribute treated drinking water from regional facilities east of County Road 102 throughout the City.

The project will provide the City with a more reliable long-term water supply, and improve water quality throughout the City. In addition to water line construction, the project includes installation of landscaping and a multi-use path on the south side of Sports Park Drive between Matmor and East streets.

Construction on the project is anticipated to begin in June 2014 and last approximately 12 months. The City will make every effort to minimize impacts to residents during construction.

At the community meeting, the City will also be taking comments on the potential for a multi-use path in an alignment along the water line between Ashley Avenue and East Street.

The meeting will be held at the Woodland Community and Senior Center, 2001 East Street, Thursday February 13, 2014 at 5:30pm.
