National Night Out

Tuesday, October 6, 2020 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

2020 is a virtual event only.

National Night Out is a crime and drug prevention event that is sponsored nationally by the National Association of Town Watch and co-sponsored locally by the Woodland Police Department.

This year is the 37th anniversary of this event with over 38 million people across the country expected to participate.

National Night Out is designed to:

  • Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness
  • Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime efforts
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police and community partnerships
  • Send a message to criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back

Event Details for 2020

When not enduring a pandemic, participating neighborhoods nationwide are asked to turn on outside lights, lock their doors, and spend the evening outside with neighbors and public safety officials. This year is a bit different. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, The Woodland Police Department is asking neighborhoods to host virtual block parties with their neighbors. During your virtual block party, neighbors can come together to "meet" each other and even discuss or plan a Neighborhood Watch Program. It’s up to you - be creative, be safe, have fun and celebrate your neighborhood!

Registration is due on or before Tuesday, September 29, 2020.
