Celebrate Woodland's 150th Anniversary

150 Logo

Formally incorporated on February 22, 1871, the City of Woodland celebrates its 150th Anniversary ("Sesquicentennial") this year. The City is proud to celebrate Woodland's history, people, businesses, culture, public services, and future with a yearlong campaign titled “Celebrate Woodland”. A series of activities, events, and multimedia features will remember Woodland's vibrant past and look forward to our bright future.

Save the date for Celebrate Woodland weekend October 16 and 17! On Saturday, October 16 from 10 AM – 4 PM, community members can enjoy a community-wide festival hosted in downtown including vendors, nonprofits, businesses, live performances, kids’ activities, art, food, and more. To capstone the weekend, the City will host a fireworks show in celebration of Woodland’s sesquicentennial the evening of Sunday, October 17. We invite all Woodlanders to attend this exciting, family-friendly weekend celebration.

Don't miss out on other great ways to get involved:

  • Celebration Bike & Walk Route: This self-guided tour traces parts of the historic boundaries of Woodland and includes several historic neighborhoods and many styles of architecture. Frequent stops along the four mile tour feature links to online videos that tell you about that particular neighborhood. Maps are available for your smart device and to print at CelebrateWoodland.org.
  • Share your family's story: We want to hear your family’s story of coming to and living in Woodland. Click here to share why your family lives in Woodland, how long you've been here, what makes this community special, and much more. These stories will be shared online through the City's social media and news outlets.
  • Purchase a commemorative t-shirt: The official "Celebrate Woodland" t-shirt was designed by a local high school student and is available now for purchase at SorD in Downtown Woodland. Shirts are $10 and all proceeds will go towards the construction of a community skate park in Woodland. Click here to learn more.
