City & School District Urge Community to Continue Practicing the Habits that Contain COVID-19

Woodland Joint Unified School District and the City of Woodland urge our community to continue practicing the habits that keep us safe. This is a crucial time in the fight against COVID-19: Woodland schools recently reopened for in-person instruction, a more transmissible variant is prevalent locally, and vaccine supplies may be limited in the short term as eligibility expands to those 16 and older. Our community has been up to the challenge this year, and we’re very close to getting back to something resembling normal. But we aren’t quite there yet. Keep up the good work and help ensure the health and wellness of your friends and family by getting tested regularly, signing up for a vaccination, and opting outside with your activities.

WJUSD and the City of Woodland Encourages the Community to Continue Practicing the Habits that Keep Us Safe and Contain COVID-19

Dear Members of our Community,

Over the past year, Woodland community members have overcome many challenges and hardships due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We applaud your collective efforts to reduce the spread of the virus, allowing small businesses to re-open and enabling our students to return to the classroom.

As we transition to in-person learning, we cannot afford to slide backwards. We need everyone to continue practicing the habits that keep us safe and contain COVID-19:

    Wear a mask.

    Wash your hands regularly.

    Practice social distancing.

    Limit large gatherings.

Sign up for a COVID-19 vaccination appointment when available.

While our efforts have significantly reduced local case numbers, the threat of COVID-19 and its variants remains. Sustained progress increases the likelihood of fully reopening our public schools in the fall and supports the recovery of our local economy.

There is light at the end of the tunnel. We are proud of our progress and the small, selfless acts that people make every day to keep our community healthy.

Together, we are making a difference.
