After more than 100 cyclists made last year’s ride a success, the City of Woodland looks forward to welcoming local and visiting cyclists to participate in the second annual “California Honey Fest’s 30 Mile Cycle”. Led by Blue Note Brewing’s cycling team, the Cycle Paths, this 30 Mile Cycle will begin at the end at the California Honey Festival, in Downtown Woodland on Saturday, May 6.
Cyclists should plan to meet at 9:15am at Blue Note Brewing (750 Dead Cat Alley, Woodland, CA 95695) to check in, complete waivers, and pick up route maps before a prompt departure at 10am. Participants are encouraged to wear their favorite yellow gear on the ride… and why not bee costumes?
The 30 mile round trip loop will be split into three groups starting at 10am, each led by a Cycle Paths team member. You will select the heat that aligns with your expected average cycling speed for the ride: 17+mph, 16-15mph, or 14-12 mph. Cyclists of slower speeds are welcome, but are responsible for guiding themselves solo on the ride if they fall behind the group.
At the end of the ride, participants are invited to park their bike at the Sacramento Area Bicycle Advocates (SABA) bike valet, and enjoy the various experiences that the Festival has to offer – Craft vendors, live music, cooking stage, pollinator plant and kid zone, beer | wine | mead garden, tasty bites at Woodland's numerous downtown restaurants, item from our boutiques and vendors, and more!
This event is possible thanks to Blue Note Brewing, Cycle Paths, SABA, May is Bike Month, California Honey Festival, and the City of Woodland.
