Senior Resource Fair Returns to Woodland on May 25

The City of Woodland Commission on Aging invites community members to a free Senior Resource Fair on Thursday, May 25, from 9 AM – 12 PM at the Woodland Community & Senior Center. 

This event highlights programs and services available to older adults in Woodland and Yolo County. Roughly 70 organizations serving Woodland, Yolo County, and the greater Sacramento area will be on-site to answer questions and provide materials. 

Exhibiting organizations include:

  • Health care
  • Assisted living facilities
  • In-home support services
  • Health and fitness
  • Adaptive devices
  • Legal and tax assistance
  • Support groups
  • Senior travel (including a trip presentation at 11 AM)
  • Volunteerism
  • Repairs and chores
  • Social services

The Commission on Aging includes five individuals appointed by the Woodland City Council who advocate for and advise on senior-related topics. Regular meetings take place on the third Thursday of the month at 4 PM at the Woodland Community & Senior Center.

The Woodland Senior Center is a designated focal point of services for older adults, including nutrition, recreation, education, transportation, art, health, support groups, and more. Programs center around healthy aging and include plenty of socialization opportunities. The Woodland Senior Center is open Monday through Friday from 8 AM – 3 PM.
