As part of their commitment to promoting sustainable automotive practices, the City of Woodland’s Environmental Services program will offer free Fumoto oil drain valves and oil change supplies to all Woodland residents attending the upcoming C10 Intervention.
The C10 Intervention truck show, which celebrates classic and custom-built trucks, will take place on Sunday, September 3 from 8 AM to 3 PM in Downtown Woodland. The City will offer complimentary Fumoto valves and oil change supplies from 8 AM to 1 PM to promote clean oil changes and oil recycling.
Used oil can contain contaminants such as lead, arsenic, and other heavy metals. Oil poured down drains or on the ground can work its way into ground and surface waters and cause serious pollution. In fact, just one gallon of used oil can contaminate one million gallons of drinking water. Federal reports indicate that used motor oil accounts for more than 40 percent of the total oil pollution of our nation’s harbors and waterways.
To combat pollution, the Fumoto oil drain valves replace standard oil drain plugs and feature a spouted valve that stays securely locked and closed while driving. They can be opened without tools, allowing for a simple and controlled oil change process that eliminates the risk of spilling oil on oneself or the ground.
These Fumoto oil drain valves are free for Woodland residents with proof of residency. Supplies are limited and will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.
