New Ordinance Clarifies Cart Requirements

A new ordinance adopted by the City of Woodland provides clarification on cart placement. Please follow the new and old cart guidelines below to ensure your carts are serviced and maintained properly:
  • Correction: Place carts out on the street no earlier than 24 hours before scheduled collection day, but no later than 6 am on scheduled collection day, and removed as soon as possible, but no later than 24 hours after collection.
  • New: Carts must be spaced at least 3 ft. away from each other and other obstructions.
  • New: Carts are not to block pedestrian access.
  • Place carts in front of your own property when possible.
  • Ensure lids are closed to prevent material from spilling out.
  • Carts should not exceed 250 lbs. in weight
  • Service carts weekly, even if they are not completely full.
Please be mindful of neighbors and surroundings when placing carts out to ensure everyone has equal access to cart collections and parking.
