    1. Waiver Application for RECYCLING Only

As of January 2022, all commercial entities (businesses and multi-family properties) are required to divert their recyclable material from going to the landfill. Mandatory recycling services will be provided to all customers by Waste Management. Commercial customers must meet one of the following criteria to qualify for a waiver.

      1. De Minimus Waiver (Businesses Only): Customer generates material that is not accepted for recycling through Waste Management services OR customer uses alternative services (i.e., paper shredding, etc.) for recycling and has no other material acceptable for recycling. Applicant must explain and provide documentation of type of waste generated.

      2. Physical Space Waiver: Premises lack adequate, physical space for all three waste streams (recycling, landfill, and organics) and is unable to share services with neighboring property.
(Containers do not need to fit inside of an enclosure in order to have all three waste streams)

If approved, this waiver will be effective for 5 years. Waiver may be revoked if circumstances that qualified you for a waiver have changed. For example, if your trash container is found with recyclable material, the waiver will be revoked and you will be automatically enrolled in recycling services through Waste Management.

    2. Recycling includes the following materials

Paper: Cardboard, newspaper, magazines, paper packaging, office paper, envelopes, junk mail, etc.
Metal: Aluminum, tin, and steel cans, empty aerosol cans, scrap metal, etc.
